Born in Sober, Galicia, where she started her musical studies. Sara is a saxophone player interested in classical, contemporary and modern repertoire. Currently, she is part of MANAMA, a programme specialize in Contemporary Music with Ictus Ensemble, Game and Ghent University.
Previously, she graduated from the Royal College of Music, London, where she did a Master in Performance with Martin Robertson supported by the Big Give Awards. Sara is the 2018 winner of the Royal College of Music’s Contemporary music competition.
Whilst at high school with professor Emilio Vázquez, Sara was awarded an Extraordinary Final Degree Award, before undertaking her undergraduate at the International Saxophone Class "Mallorca Saxophone Studio" at the Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands (CSIB) with professors Rodrigo Vila and David Brutti.
Her development was enriched by the advice of musicians such as Jean-Marie Londeix, Marie Bernadette Charrier, Marcus Weiss, Lars Mlekusch, Daniel Gauthier, Simon Diricq and composers such as Mauricio Sotelo, Jesús Torres, François Rossé, Christian Lauba and Alberto Posadas.
Sara was in the 2018 edition of Darmstadt Ferienkurse für Neue Musik. She has actively participated in the Mallorca Saxophone Festival since its fourth edition (2012). She has collaborated with orchestras such as the Symphonic Orchestra of the Balearic Islands, the Symphonic Orchestra of CSIB and the RCM New Perspectives.
Her concert activity took her to several halls in the UK, Spain, Portugal and Thailand such as the Royal Academy of Arts, the Australian Embassy in London, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Sala Úrculo (Madrid), Auditorio Eduardo del Pueyo (Zaragoza), the Mahidol University (Bangkok).
